In a phenomenon not often witnessed the 'tale' of the multi-million dollar The Witcher series is not a reference to the plot of the show borrowed from Andrzej Sapkowski's genius, but instead to the story of Henry Cavill's exit as Geralt. Essentially, the main character of the series, the actor upon its premiere, became the strongest convincing factor for fans to tune in. However, as he has long hung the armor, the sword, and the green contacts that came with it, The Witcher is constantly on the hunt to add more jewels in order to shine out the dark shadow his absence is going to cause.

While the show maybe trying to conceal Cavill's absence, the main motive for Season 4 happens to be giving more power to the evil. This has become especially clear with the latest The Witcher Season 4 update.

With Ciri running off with the Rats and the found family of Yennefer, Geralt, and Ciri not being the center of attention anymore, the show has resorted too much more complex tactics. As per Redanian Intelligence, it has cast more Nilfgaardians. Given the vital role that Emperor Emhyr var Emreis plays in this season, if the books are to be followed, this seems to be an especially good move.

Understanding that casting a big-name actor like Liam Hemsworth is not going to be enough to save their sinking ship, The Witcher makers have sought talented and veteran actors to play vassals of Emperor Emhyr var Emreis. Tom Benedict Knight, known for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, will be taking on the role of Ardal aep Dahy. Moreover, Rispat La Pointe will be played by Andrew French, who stole hearts in The Exorcist: The Beginning and Assassination Games.

If the word on the street is to be believed, then Netflix has the blood of not just The Witcher but also several other book adaptations, including The Picture of Dorian Gray. The fantasy series, however, seemed to be on the front line of the battle, as it was hit with a major flake for changing crucial aspects of Andrzej Sapkowski for no good reason. However, with Season 4 already having released Ciri's first look, for the first time in a while fans are excited about The Witcher.

The reason behind the uncontrollable brouhaha following Cavill's exit was majorly due to his understanding of the source material. Therefore, his replacement equated to the death of any source accuracy in fans' heads. Despite some good indicators, it is yet to be seen whether The Witcher hits the ball at all, if not out of the park this time around.
