When Netflix dove into the epic world of The Witcher, dreamed up by Andrzej Sapkowski, they aimed to bring the magic to life with stunning visuals in a live-action series. But of course, there was plenty of side-eye over some creative liberties. Then, when the show decided to swap out Geralt of Rivia, replacing Henry Cavill with Liam Hemsworth after three thrilling seasons, fans were sure the series had hit a major snag. But since what’s done is done, Netflix is all about looking forward, and with two exciting new seasons on the horizon, they are ready to level up and win back hearts!

New reports reveal updates on the filming as the Continent prepares to unfurl the timeworn tapestry.

As The Witcher works its magic to smoothly pass the torch of Geralt’s memories from Henry Cavill to Liam Hemsworth, Redanian Intelligence has just dropped some thrilling news. Not only are there exciting updates for season 4, but also a sneak peek at season 5. According to their latest X post, filming for the fourth season has already clocked over 100 days and is set to continue until late October or early November this year.

While this means season 4 is just around the corner, the outlet also shared that the crew and cast will dive straight into working on season 5 soon after, serving as the end to the Witcherverse. So, fans might as well breathe easily as there might not be a lengthy wait between the fourth and fifth seasons. Even with some fans doubting how well the show will do without Cavill, The Witcher is strutting its stuff with unexpected swagger.

When Henry Cavill stepped down from his role as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, many fans threw in the towel right then and there. For those who stuck around, Liam Hemsworth's take on the character is now a major factor in deciding whether Cavill’s departure was a blessing or a curse. But Hemsworth, who will lead the show through seasons 4 and 5, got a bit of relief last month when Redanian Intelligence revealed that the final scripts for season 5 are already wrapped up.

Sure, there will be some tweaking and editing once filming kicks off, but the heavy lifting is mostly done. Since seasons 4 and 5 were written more or less back-to-back (strikes aside), the same writer's room worked on both. While which episodes each writer will tackle in season 5 remain unclear, things look promising, and the mystery will soon clear up for fans!
