Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ 4 Reportedly Has a Freya Allen ‘Torture Scene’ That Has Nods Within the Books

The Witcher waved goodbye to Henry Cavill’s Geralt, but the Witcherverse is still on a mission to slay the game like they never skipped a beat. Cavill's exit had some people reminiscing about how Andrzej Sapkowski was not exactly thrilled with the live-action take on his beloved books. But when the crew decided to explain Cavill’s departure with a little book-based storyline magic, they probably did not realize they would dive even deeper into those pages. Now, reports are swirling about a brutal torture scene in season four featuring Freya Allan, straight from the original novels.

While Freya Allan was busy turning heads in Paris, this time she might have made bookworms do a double-take with some unexpected scenes.

According to the latest report from Redanian Intelligence, Freya Allan has shot a gritty torture scene where Ciri trades in her vibrant Falka costume for some raggedy threads and some serious bruises. This dramatic moment was filmed during Block 3, meaning fans can see it in either episode 5 or 6 of The Witcher 4. In the books, the Baron of Casadei, whose daughter had a run-in with Falka, hires the mercenary Leo Bonhart for revenge.

In season 4, Sharlto Copley is stepping into the shoes of the menacing Bonhart. In Baptism of Fire, the Baron wanted Falka alive, but the other Rats are on the dead list. Things got intense in the Tower of the Swallow when Bonhart dragged a chained-up Ciri around, dishing out some serious beatdowns and drugs before tossing her into a brutal fighting pit. However, since these details are straight from the books, fans will have to wait and see what makes it to the final cut of the show and what does not.

According to Redanian Intelligence, production for The Witcher’s upcoming season has been rolling since April, and they have already filmed over half of the 8 episodes. Fans know that season 4 is about to take a seriously dark turn for Ciri. In one twisty event, the Rats swipe a noblewoman’s carriage in Nilfgaard, and Ciri cannot resist snagging the woman’s brooch for herself.

In the books, that was where the drama ended. But in the show? It sounds like Ciri might go into full-on assassin mode and slit the Baron’s daughter’s throat, leading to some major fallout. The excitement builds as Ciri is seen wielding a dagger in the first images released for her new look months ago. So, Witcher fans might as well mark their calendars because season 4 is going to be a wild ride.
