Earlier, fans predicted that The Umbrella Academy season four would be released sometime in mid-2024, after the filming wrapped in 2023. However, no one could confirm the exact date until the streaming giant announced that the fourth season would arrive on Netflix on August 8, 2024. Plenty of familiar faces are set to return for the final season, including Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, and Aidan Gallagher, along with some new additions.
Among the new cast members are Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross, who joined the franchise last year. Mullally and Offerman, who are also married in real life, will play the pair of married community college professors from New Mexico, Drs. Gene and Jean Thibedeau. Meanwhile, Cross will play Sy Gossman, a businessman seeking to reconnect with his estranged daughter. The final season also promises many fresh twists.
The teasers and trailers for The Umbrella Academy season 4 teased some new powers and new enemies for the Hargreeves siblings, hinting that there could be a world-ending event on the horizon.

The fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy will follow the repercussions of the Hargreeves resetting the universe from the last installment. Netflix released the first full-length trailer for the fourth season four in June. In the trailer, fans saw how the Hargreeves have been struggling to adjust to their new life, now that they are powerless. However, there was one particular scene where some orange light was seen emitting from Viktor's hands, hinting that the characters may not be powerless for too long.
Showrunner Steve Blackman once told Total Film that the final season would “explain Hargreeves' motivations” and also “figure out a way to make them superheroes again.” There is also a chance that fans might finally get to unveil the deal Reginald made with Allison. And though the show is ending with season 4, given the title of the last episode, End of the Beginning, only August 8 will tell whether the franchise will finally come full circle or open more doors of possibilities.
