Netflix Shares Its First Look at the Highly Anticipated ‘Squid Game’ Season 2
Back during the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown, Netflix ended up giving the world Squid Game. While the show pitted 456 players against each other for a grand cash prize, viewers seemed to thoroughly love it. Even with all the death and gruesomeness, the series quickly ended up being a fan favorite. However, after being confirmed for a second season, the South Korean show ended up falling off the radar until today.
After years of making their fans wait, the streaming giant took to their social media to give the world their first look at the show’s upcoming second season.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Netflix shared a teaser trailer for Squid Game season 2. While it came rather suddenly, the clip ended up sending fans into a frenzy. The video featured returning star, Lee Jung-Jae, taking on the role of Seong Gi-Hun, the winner from the last season of the games, with dyed burgundy hair. Although the clip was only a few seconds long, it proved that the upcoming season could focus on how the character puts a stop to the inhumane practice of the games.
In the clip, the actor could be seen saying, “I will find you. No matter what it takes,” after receiving a weird phone call. While not much has been revealed about the plot, based on the last season, fans could potentially see Jung-Jae try to take down the people behind the games. The post also revealed that the new season would be coming sometime this year.
The latest series update comes after the cast of the highly anticipated series was announced at Netflix’s TUDUM event last year.
Netflix’s cast for Squid Game Season 2
Back in June 2023, Netflix was on a roll. During their global TUDUM event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the streaming giant made their plans for season 2 of Squid Game known. While that was enough to send fans over the moon, they also ended up revealing the cast. Although some returning faces would be there, some of them would be new. The actors who were said to be returning were Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-Jun, and Gong Yoo.

However, with the show so focused on killing characters off, the likes of Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun would also be joining the team. With such skilled actors at the helm, season 2 is sure to be as gripping as the first.
