Netflix Set to Remove a Fan Favorite Trilogy, Watch It Before It Is Gone
There can only be so much room for brilliance in one house. And while Netflix may be the biggest streaming home, harboring at least a few million cinematic masterpieces and duds, it also needs to renovate sometimes. The OTT Mogul does so by letting go of various movies and tv shows every day. Unfortunately, this time around the gem it has chosen to discard might leave more than just an aching heart.
In the list of titles that the streamer plans to remove in May, lay a name far too iconic and close to the hearts of millions of fans around the world.

Streaming platforms are known for the comfort they bring owing to the fact that they allow viewers to enjoy movies of all kinds from their homes. This leads to it often giving chances to underrated or ignored pieces to become critically acclaimed. However, in order to do so, the streamer has to let go of films as well. To the dismay of a majority, Netflix is removing The Hunger Games trilogy from its platform on May 31st.
Contrary to popular belief, the streamer does not let go of movies because of the lack of viewership ratings, but actually due to license expiration, among other things. The latter must be most likely the case for The Hunger Games, as it is often the favorite choice for binge-watching sessions.
While fans can watch the movies as many times as they want until the end of this month on Netflix, they will need to resort to other means later.

Given its easy navigation and overall dominance in the OTT space, fans will dearly miss the movies on Netflix. However, if the steamer does not take a U-turn and goes ahead with eradicating the trilogy, fans can watch it on other streaming platforms. The original trilogy has long been available on Amazon Prime Video. Apart from that, fans of The Hunger Games can also catch up with its recent prodigy.
Francis Lawrence came out with another wonderfully crafted masterpiece towards the end of 2023, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The movie is a prequel centered around President Coriolanus Snow when he was just eighteen years old. Although yet to gain the same acclaim as the originals, the movie is quite the ride and can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
