The movie is set in the 1940s, when a novice named Narcisa gets appointed as a teacher in a convent operating as a girls&#8217; school. Soon after she settles down in the place, she starts experiencing paranormal activities and has nightmares. The film has received positive reviews from critics and viewers. Jesse Hassenger of Decider approved the prequel, deeming it to be &#8220;an efficient and well-made horror picture&#8221;.

Verónica is a 2017 Spanish supernatural drama that follows the titular character who conducts a séance using an Ouija board, along with her friends. The protagonist&#8217;s desire to reach out to her father somehow leads her to a demonic spirit that starts haunting her. Looking for answers, the girl visits back to the basement where it all started and the school&#8217;s elderly blind nun whom the students call &#8220;Sister Death.&#8221;
