Netflix Leading a Major Content Shift in This Country Amid Financial Crunch
It looks like Netflix is up for some serious shifts since the announcement of a poor quarter. First, it was the news of strict password sharing terms and conditions, followed by the possibility of advertisements being released. But none of them affected the content being produced. However, it looks like Netflix is ready to mix things up in a few countries. And one particular country is seeing a major content shift as a result.
Netflix shifts content gears amid subscribers loss
Well, it appears that the decrease in subscribers was the final straw, as we’ve now learned that Netflix India is planning to take extreme measures to combat the dip. The streamer is supposedly in the process of revamping its future slate of Indian web series and features.

According to BollywoodLife, Netflix India is trying a newer, more commercial approach to its content.
They are diverging from the serious, dark, artistic path it had been on to entice viewers because most of what’s on its slate fall into the former category. So, the OTT platform is allegedly reworking it’s future content strategies.
This doesn’t mean the streamer is dropping or cancelling shows and movies. Instead, it plans to space them out and pump in fresh projects of a more commercial tone. This is their attempt at bringing to India the variety subscribers outside the country enjoy.
That said, one Netflix India title is getting a major update in the light of the recent developments.
Delhi Crime season 2 reshoots

According to reports, the upcoming sequel to Indian Netflix series Delhi Crime season 2 is up for some changes. The streaming service appears to be rethinking Delhi Crime season 2 and as such, it ordered re-shoots for the upcoming sequel. This is likely a direct effect of the streamer’s bid to shake things up content-wise.
Delhi Crime is not the only returning Netflix India show. Returning seasons of shows like She and Masaba Masaba are also reaching the Indian audience soon.

Apart from the sequels, Indian subscribers can expect exciting new projects from the streamer. The upcoming slate includes Thar, starring Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya.
With such shows and sequels in pipeline, Netflix might just leave its mark on Indian subscribers.
