Netflix Renews Its Critically Acclaimed Sci-Fi Series ‘Black Mirror’ for Another Season
In an era where content rules supreme, Netflix in no way would like to loosen its chokehold on streaming media. The behemoth content company has for long nurtured and produced shows that go beyond traditional boundaries and establish a character of their own. Basking in its most recent success with One Piece, the streamer is leaving no stone unturned to let that winning streak slip. In the most recent updates, Netflix has turned its attention to one of its fan-favorite sci-fi shows: Black Mirror.
Just when fans thought they had seen all of its surprises coming, Netflix believes there is more.

At a time when the streamer is knee-deep in genres like fantasy and sci-fi, Black Mirror manages to set itself a class apart. The show roots itself deep into exploring the dark side of humanity and the ill fate of over-reliance on technology. A report by Variety confirms that the dystopian show has received its renewal for a seventh season. Meanwhile, no further details about the content or the cast came attached to it.
The last season of the show starring Salma Hayek, grabbed the headlines recently. In an eerie coincidence, the first episode of that season, Joan Is Awful, nearly predicted the SAG-AFTRA and WGA twin strikes long before they befell. The seventh season is likely to continue this trademark thrill factor. The biggest selling point of the show is how each season stands as an independent strand on its own, so there is no particular order to watch the same.
In another fascinating showcase, Netflix recently sent out filming updates for some of its long-standing and anticipated shows.
Netflix gives out filming updates for Stranger Things and Wednesday
Weeks after its producer, Shawn Levy teased a “cinematic storytelling” for the last season, Netflix lined up Stranger Things for priority filming. The rush was such that actor David Harbour was called on to the set a mere ten minutes after the SAG-AFTRA strikes had ended. Additionally, in all likelihood, filming is to resume before the end of November. The show, which is already running months behind, is gunning for an expedition.

Another one of the streamer’s behemoths, Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday, also received a filming update. Although the schedule is a bit more stretched out than Millie Bobby Brown‘s project, both are record-fetching shows. Finally, during its Geeked Week event, the streamer also unleashed its plans for a plethora of spin-offs and new shows.
