Netflix Recruits ‘The Sandman’ Director, As a Measure to Weather ‘The Witcher’ Storm After Henry Cavill Exit
Despite the backlash, Netflix seems to have immense trust in its Witcher lore and has decided to expand the universe. Some four years ago, the streaming giant took a big leap when it adapted a niche, Polish high-fantasy literature that spawned a hugely successful video game franchise. And through two whole seasons, a prequel, the series’s heart, Henry Cavill’s departure, huge backlash, and much more- The show has not only managed to sustain itself but has become a Netflix heartthrob. So much so that a The Witcher Spinoff is also in its early production.
Well, if you were under the rock, the spinoff has been in development for quite some time. It is about the infamous group of rogues (who would much rather like to be called the Rats) planning the “biggest heist of their careers.” Furthermore, assisting them is no other than the Shadow and Bone and The Sandman director Mairzee Almas.

Notably, along with these shows, the likes of Locke and Key, Jessica Jones, Paper Girls, Outlander and a plethora of other gigs are also under her credit. Seems like with such a strong company on board, Netflix has decided to turn the storms around and win back its audience once again.
Just in case you are curious, here is everything you need to know about the spin-off.
