Out of these, only DOG MAN has not been released in theaters yet. And for 2026, Netflix has other exciting titles like The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, The Bad Guys 2, and Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie.

Looking ahead to 2027, Shrek 5 and Minions 3 will be released on the platform within a few months of it hitting the big screens. None of these upcoming 2026 or 2027 Netflix releases have been released in the theatres yet. But, Netflix has a knack for turning even mediocre theatrical releases into big hits—  although, sometimes, even their original animated titles gain a following well after their debut.

Fans quickly discovered the title on the streaming giant and made it climb the ranks on Netflix’s Top 10.

The Garfield Movie ended up taking the top spot in daily movie rankings, even surpassing hits like Uglies and Rebel Ridge. This has become a common trend for animated films on Netflix—especially those that started out in theaters. Hopefully, the upcoming animated titles will continue that success on the platform.
