There is only one living superstar that can guarantee a mega-opening at the box office in this age of Netflix. And that’s none other than Tom Cruise. The man is a legend with hundreds of hit projects under his belt but none stands out as much as his blockbuster franchise Mission Impossible. So far the franchise has spawned 6 films and according to popular opinion, Mission Impossible 6 is the best possible sequel. In a recent tweet, Netflix announced that it has licensed the first Mission Impossible movie that had started it all.

The 1996 movie was based on a television series of the same name. Tom Cruise had appeared in several dramatic roles before this and MI was a breath of fresh air from all his intense roles earlier.

After a mission is compromised and all his team members killed, Ethan Hunt is the only remaining suspect. A disavowed Ethan has to use every means possible to clear his name and avenge his team members.

Did you know that the actor had to put coins in his shoes to maintain the balance and keep his head from hitting the floor in the hovering scene? Additionally, Tom used genuine hand tricks to disappear the CD to fool Franz Krieger.
This is by far the only film in the series that has only 5 gunshots and literally two gun fights! The thrilling train sequence was shot at Pinewood Studios over six weeks. Moreover, this was the first movie Tom produced under his banner.
