After having fetched all the stars to decorate its catalog with content both original and diverse, Netflix still kept pushing for more changes that would cement its position as the best, especially with the saturation of streaming platforms right now. And the golden idea struck when it quite literally thought of the box by bringing games into its many features.

Following a surplus of game adaptations, some of which it butchered and others it nailed, the streaming giant moved ahead with games as one of its primary focuses. However, this plan has gotten a major setback in its fetus stages itself.

With making original content, be it movies and series or gaming, as its defining trait at least in this era, Netflix was running a game studio in Southern California, also called "Team Blue" as per Game File. However, the streamer has abruptly shut down the studio that was slated to make its next cutting-edge gaming experience titled AAA.

Team Blue was set to turn the tides for Netflix as it was working on a multi-platform game AAA, for which it had fetched some of the biggest names in the gaming industry. With Alain Tascan, also the mind behind Lego Fortnite and Fall Guys, as its Gaming President, the OTT Mogul was aiming for the sky.

Given the efforts and the sheer workforce that the streamer had put behind its gaming strategies, the shutdown definitely comes as a shock, especially since the games were actually popular.

While the shutdown of Team Blue definitely leaves things at a cliffhanger, while AAA was in development, the streamer was already doing surprisingly well with its mobile games. Despite having only a few dozen titles to choose from, the games were engaging enough to earn a nod from gamers.

It is unclear if Netflix will continue to produce new games or whether it still has intentions of creating a multi-platform game with original IP. However, the streamer will continue to make adaptations of popular video games, hoping that they will be a hit a possibility that anyone can make a winning bet on.
