Netflix Moves Forward With the Multi-Part WWE Vince McMahon Documentary Series
Over the years, Netflix has been home to a myriad of documentary series and movies of world-renowned personalities. Some talk about the struggling lives of successful billionaires, while others bring to light the dreadful criminal stories of psychotic serial killers. The American streaming giant has a bounty of such pieces that cover a diverse range of subjects from climate to sports to even filmmaking. As confirmed by trusted sources, Netflix has decided to another to a list. Its latest documentary on Hollywood actress, Marilyn Monroe, was a huge success. Following which the streamer has now decided to film another docuseries on a famous American professional wrestling impresario. He who got WWE into mainstream media. Netflix has signed a high-budgeted deal with WWE about the life story of Vince McMahon
Netflix had previously revealed its groundbreaking deal with working with WWE to film a docuseries on the famous wrestling proprietor, Vince McMahon. The first news about the same was announced back in 2020. However, owing to the pandemic constraints and some allegations about the celebrity from the Wall Street Journal, the making of the docuseries was put on hold. Now that it’s all clear, Netflix has finally gotten its hands back on the piece, and currently, the series is under process. Filmmaker Chris Smith is attached as the director and executive producer Bill Simmons, with WWE cooperating with production.
As reported by Fightful’s Denise Salcedo in an article on Comicbook, the Vince McMahon Netflix Documentary Series was pulled from the company’s to-do list. However, it was confirmed once again that most parts of the docuseries are already done, and they will release an update about the same anytime soon. Although the release date is not out yet, it is expected to reach our screens towards the end of 2022.

The upcoming Netflix documentary on WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s life will be a four-part series. Sources even revealed that the documentary will cover Vince’s childhood in the trailer park. At the time of the initial reveal, it was said to be one of the highest-budgeted documentaries in Netflix history.
According to sources, it was also noted that though not confirmed, Vince’s match against Pat McAfee will be included. In addition to that, the subsequent interactions with Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38 may also be included in the final project. The docuseries will see daylight most probably this year itself. However, Netflix hasn’t made any official confirmation anywhere on social media.
