Netflix Just Brought a Beloved Animated Show From the 90s on the Platform to Shoot Some Nostalgia Into the Fans

Netflix seems to transport all the viewers to different worlds, times, and dimensions. Or so it would seem, considering the efforts the platform is making to bring all the childhood memories of fans. Recently, they sent the internet into a meltdown, sharing the most cherished moment from the decades-old animation movie. The picture showed the fan-favorite scene from The Land Before Time where Littlefoot bid an emotional goodbye to his dying mother. Now the streaming giant is back with another iconic animated show that entertained worldwide viewers for years.

Netflix dropped a clip of the television series Rugrats revealing that seasons 1 and 2 are now available for streaming in the US. The Nickelodeon show started in 1991 and lasted till August 1, 2004. Although it did not have a constant release of episodes and halted several times in the complete timeline.

The 13-year run of the show gave viewers a total of 172 episodes over nine seasons. Rugarts was so popular among people that it became the eighth-longest-running show in animation history. The series took a seat behind the wildly followed cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants on Nickelodeon.

Not to mention, the original show has racked up over 20 awards during its run, including Emmy Awards, Kids’ Choice Awards, and its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. People who haven’t heard about the show might be wondering what made this children’s show so popular. Well, it wouldn’t be too much to say that this show is as treasuring for the 90s kids as Boss Baby Franchise is for today’s kids.

What is the plot of the Netflix-revived animation show?

Rugarts revolves around the day-to-day lives of a group of toddlers which include Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, and twins Phil and Lil. The comedic adventures of these kids are depicted as something huge achievement in the imaginations of the main characters. Most of their adventures of the babies take place at Tommy’s house where the elders babysit them while running errands.

As of now, the show has spawned three movies, and the franchise’s licensing and the creatures are hoping to revive the storyline in the future.
