Netflix Is Set to Put You on the Mystery Van’ Nostalgia by Adding Scooby Doo Movies to Its Collection

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? Does the song send you on a trip to nostalgia? Well, Scooby-Doo’s Mystery Van is back to remind you of your childhood. The monster hunting gang of Scooby Doo movies is now on Netflix. The cartoon that aired its first episode in 1969 on Cartoon Network among other channels inspired the film series. In 2002, Director Raja Gosnell created a movie by the same name, followed by his creation of the 2004 sequel Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

While the first movie was a box office success earning $275 million, followed by the sequel, which made $181.2 million. Although there were other remakes as well, proving how well-loved the Scooby-Doo franchise is. Despite every remake being a tad bit different from the other, the one constant thing is its goofy character and outrageously hilarious scenes. In an edgy Twitter post, Netflix announced the additions of these mystery movies.

How Netflix announced the addition of Scooby-Doo movies

Adding Scooby-Doo’s thrill to Netflix will not warm existing fans but also expand the franchise’s fanbase. In a Twitter post dated 2nd October, the streaming giant gave us a glimpse of the movies with clips of action scenes. The caption to which is, “Daphne is nobody’s damsel in distress. Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed are now on Netflix.” 

The common main cast consists of Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred Jones, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne Blake, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Linda Cardellini as Velma Dinkley, and Neil Fanning voicing the animated dog Scooby-Doo. Sarah Michelle Gellar won the Teen Choice Awards in the category Choice Movie Actress- Comedy award for her role in the film series.

The plot throughout the Scooby-Doo franchise consists of a mystery-solving group of friends and their dog, Scooby. Unlike typical dogs, Scooby along with Shaggy gets scared easily, while the rest three characters set up traps and try to unmask the face behind scary monsters.
