Additionally, Netflix execs now have a say in screenwriters creating content that can be followed easily. While this may sound too much on Netflix's end, this adaptability ensures it remains a top choice for viewers seeking personalized entertainment experiences. However, fans seem to have taken it otherwise.

According to N+1 Magazine, Netflix executives are advising screenwriters to make their characters explicitly state their actions, allowing viewers to follow along even when the program is playing in the background. The report suggested that this approach is designed to cater to distracted viewers who may not be fully engaged with the content.

Netflix now also utilizes thousands of micro-genres, including "casual viewing," to categorize movies and TV shows that are easily digestible without intense focus. Furthermore, the report specified that the genre is structured to allow for passive consumption, hence its appropriateness for background viewing. The approach is mainly designed to keep up with their changing viewer habits and Netflix's adaptability.
