Netflix Has Renewed This 93% Rotten Tomatoes Rated Series, Amidst the Rising Tensions of WGA And SAG Strike
As SAG and WGA members pick up placards, Netflix green lits another season of one of their top-rated shows. Movies and TV shows ushered their premiers before the actor strike could begin. The writer’s strike has already affected projects for an unforeseen amount of time. Adding the actor’s strike to it has imposed new challenges for show makers. It is a sensitive time as the committee shows solidarity and wants their demands met.
Netflix original shows like FUBAR, Ginny and Georgia, and The Night Agent will have their next season on hold until things get resolved. But the stuck projects do not seem to phase the OTT platform as it continues to make new announcements.

As actors and writers show solidarity with the strike, Netflix may just have a plan to continue. The streaming giant will bring Season 8 of their Spanish team drama show Elite. Release first in 2018, it has been critically acclaimed, receiving 93% from Rotten Tomatoes. After 6 seasons, the declaration of an 8th one is a surprise from a platform known for canceling shows after 1 season. But this one likely got green-lit for having an international crew, which could shield it from the effects of the strike.
The show is shown to be based in Las Encinas, where three students from a financially middle-class background end up in an upper-class school due to their scholarships. However, they are left clashing with classmates, failing to see eye to eye. This results in the murder of one of their mates. Thereon, the season follows a plot surrounding sexual tensions, social issues, and changing dynamics between them all.
This announcement coming amidst the strikes could be a hope for the platform amidst a strike with no end date.

Writers and actors have kept demands for production companies for fair wages that are at least enough to survive. They want control over the usage of AI, and recurring benefits from the platforms showing their shows through the years. This positions the artists on the opposite side of the streaming sites as well.
As of now, season 7 of the show is set to be released in coming October. We can also expect the platforms to run old shows to keep subscribers hooked. With the declaration of another season in this jumble, it will be seen whether the site’s plans pay off.
