Despite the unexpected delays surrounding Stranger Things, Netflix has quite a busy September planned for the fans of the Upside Down as it aims to satiate the hunger of Hawkins enthusiasts and beyond. According to recent reports from What’s on Netflix, Geeked Week is set to commence on September 16 this year. Stranger Things Updates on X has detailed that the week will bring fresh insights into Stranger Things’ final season, its animated series, and the stage production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

The stage adaptation of Netflix's popular sci-fi series secured an extended run in London’s West End through 2025 previously, coinciding with the release of an official trailer by the streamer. This unusual move underscored Netflix's significant investment in expanding the franchise, especially as the series approaches its conclusion. Now, with the latest update, there is speculation that the stage play may also premiere on the streaming platform concurrently.

As September approaches with a lineup of Stranger Things updates, Maya Hawke, known for her role as Robin Buckley, hinted at a cinematic experience with the upcoming eight-episode final season. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer previously announced that the fifth and final season will consist of eight episodes, with the series finale expected to be "at least two hours". Speaking on the Podcrushed podcast, Hawke added that the episodes are akin to "eight movies" because of their significant length.

During the two years since season 4, Stranger Things 5 weathered the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes before commencing filming in January, this year. Reflecting on the production, Hawke humorously noted that the filming process has been somewhat "cursed." She, however, acknowledged the time-consuming process of crafting and filming each season. While the extensive production timeline is understandable for a show that aims for larger-than-life storytelling, the upcoming Geeked Week promises to make up for any perceived setbacks thus far.
