The journey of Monkey D. Luffy and his gang will have the same adventures and feel, but made with modern effects as they set off to find a treasure. We can see certain sequences of the manga mirrored in the show like Luffy handing over his hat to Nami or the fight sequence with Captain Mihawk.
Regarding the skepticism, the trailer was expected to help confused fans decide whether they are liking it or not, and here is the verdict.
Fans give their reaction to seeing the trailer of the live version of Netflix’s One Piece
Adaptation of any book, game, or manga is a big task, especially if one wants to win over the existing fan base. Netflix’s One Piece has yet to pass that test, considering the manga has loyal fans who are doubtful. Seeing the trailer, a lot of the fans were excited and realized that it actually looks great. Another feels that the show will be disliked despite being good, for no good reason.
Just as he thought, there were critics who feel that the show looks way different from what they imagined it to be. The blame usually goes to show makers not sticking to the original source.
But one fan feels that not copying and adding its own element makes it more exciting.
