Months after its Tudum event, November 6-12th is playing host for Netflix’s Geeked Week. The banner has already released tons of exciting updates for many in-house franchises, including The Witcher. In its freshest of reveals, the streamer announced that a teaser trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action will drop on the 9th of November, 2023. Meanwhile, the show itself has a 2024 release schedule along with several new and returning titles.

The live-action is based on the Emmy-winning three-season run of the animation of the same name. With an eye on East-Asian culture and its theme of ‘bending’ four major elements, the show looks to repeat the success story of One Piece. Moreover, it also looks to install itself among people with disabilities as well as stand resonantly relevant to its theme of gender equality. The eight-episode series, created by Albert Kim, is directed by at least four directors.

On the other side of the spectrum, Netflix is leaving nothing to chance. A breeze of updates has come in swooping for fans this week.

Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown find prominence in Geeked Week

Months after Henry Cavill exited his fan-favorite role as Geralt in The Witcher, he is returning to Netflix in more ways than one. Firstly, the actor stands confirmed to star alongside Stranger Things actress, Millie Bobby Brown, in Enola Holmes 3. The third installment to the spy universe will pick off right where the previous one left. Exploring the tales of Sherlock Holmes’ sister, Enola, the show will further its plot full of sleuthing masterclass and women empowerment.

On the unconfirmed side, Cavill may or may not turn to his The Witcher franchise. Another Geeked event may soon reveal the outcome of that possibility with the mention of Geralt’s voice actor for an anime spin-off. The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will explore an abandoned storyline from the show’s first season. Additionally, it shall also serve fans with some content during this dry run period.
