Far away from the current discord within the British monarchy and the ongoing cold war between Prince William and Prince Harry, resides Netflix’s The Crown. The period drama revolving around the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II has long found a home in many welcoming hearts. After narrating tales of her past and singing glory songs, it is now time for the show to end. Netflix just announced the show’s approach for its final season as well as its release date.

The historical drama series will follow its fantasy brethren The Witcher in releasing the show split into two parts. The first part will be released on November 16, with the second coming later on December 14. Additionally, the first will have four episodes, with the remaining six to fall with the second. Thus, to express their excitement, concern, and some mixed feelings, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to relay the same to Netflix.

The dramatically accurate show mirrors the real-life events of the British monarchy from 1947 all the way to the early 21st century. Regardless, season six will take up from its predecessor. The previous season focused on the separation and divorce of then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Additionally, it also touched on monumental historic events, such as the decommissioning of Britannia and the handover of Hong Kong.

It will also brush upon Prince William and Kate Middleton’s days of early romance and then deal with the eventual succession of the monarch. In every way, it is all but going to be a roller-coaster ride where the screams of thrill are replaced by the twists and tales of real monarch history.
