The long-awaited Netflix ads-supported plan is now operative! The streaming service saw a negative progression in its growth after this year’s budget and is doing everything it can to re-establish its authority in the business. Among many, Netflix was to launch cheaper subscription plans for its audience who cannot afford the currently available ones. So if you do not want to stop binging your favorite shows but need a cheaper plan and can bear a few ads, you will soon be able to do so.

According to the reports, the brand new plan will shortly be in function in 12 countries namely: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Japan, Spain, Mexico, the UK, and the US. Here’s everything you need to know about it from the prices in your country and everything it has to offer.

The Netflix ads-supported tier will soon function:

Notably, Netflix will charge  $6.99 in the US or CAD 5.99 in Canada, or £4.99 in the UK each month. While all its normal subscription plans will operate the same way, the ads-supported tier will be an add-on. You will get a video quality of 720p/HD and get ads after an hour of streaming.

Reports also mention that in the initial months, users will get ads of 15 to 30 seconds each. Further, most of Netflix’s original dramas will include ads in them. But a few may still be ad-free due to licensing issues. However, Netflix is working on that as well, and soon the new plan will unroll full-fledged.

Yet another shortcoming that comes with a cheaper plan is that subscribers won’t be able to download the shows and movies offered by the OTT platform. In the above-mentioned countries, the streaming giant will officially launch the tier in the initial week of November. From November 1st in Canada, and November 3rd in US and UK. The new Netflix plan is reportedly called Basic with Ads. Business geeks and Netflix itself have speculated that it will bring in more audience and hence profit to the service.
