Even with the Netflix deal, he has managed to garner enough views with movies like Murder Mystery and Hustle. But also in the mix are some trashy movies that are better left forgotten. He explained, “I certainly didn’t want anyone to be offended. That was my goal and that’s what I always thought, that once you see the movie we’re making … [you’ll realize] it’s not trying to be hurtful. We’re just trying to show how great [Native Americans] are.”

However, the content was too offensive for the critics to sit through the entire film. Sandler played White Knife, an orphan. He grew up in the household of two Native Americans and has daddy issues. Very soon he comes to know that he has five other half brothers, who are fugitives. The brothers team up together to set their father straight and address their daddy issues.

The Ridiculous 6 boasted a great cast: Terry Crews, Jorge Garcia, Taylor Lautner, Will Forte, and Rob Schneider. But even the bigwigs attached to the project couldn’t save the film. The film was riddled with offensive racial stereotypes and jokes. It is reported that some Native American actors abandoned the set due to the extremely racist nature of the material.

It was a still a hit for Netflix

Despite the critics bashing the film, the Adam Sandler movie received a 34% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and was announced a hit for the streamer. Clever marketing helped it become the most-watched movie at the time of its release on Netflix.
