Promoting peace over chaos, and shedding light amidst the darkest hour, the mini-series has been gathering praise from the viewers for the themes and acting. The youngest actor, Nell Sutton, delivered an incredibly effective performance as the lead character’s childhood. Not only did she win fans’ hearts, but also was the most-loved on the sets of the show.
Netflix recently shared a clip showing an adorable conversation between Levy and Sutton. The young Marie-Laure fame shocked the Canadian director with just a 2-word answer.

Netflix shared a beautiful conversation where Nell Sutton talked about her secret closet. Sutton recounted their conversation and asked if Levy remembered the startling revelation about Marie and the hidden closet. She asked him if he wanted to know where she kept her secret closet. Levy curiously requested her to reveal and Sutton shocked him by saying, “My heart.” The 55-year-old director embraced the little actress as soon as she said, “I’m gonna keep Marie in my heart.”
With tears in his eyes and a lack of words, the Deadpool director simply thanked Nell Sutton for being a part of the show. He previously opened up about how wonderful it was to have the 7-year-old actress on the sets. Levy had said Sutton had “an effervescence and joyous presence that is infectious, on-screen and off.” He gushed over the youngster’s talent and fearlessness.
While everyone on the show was fond of her, Sutton actually enjoyed working with Mark Ruffalo, as she admitted in the clip. She praised the actor for his professional attitude. Nevertheless, before even starring in the Netflix war drama, the little one was already an admirer of Shawn Levy!

Starring in All the Light We Cannot See was not the first time Sutton faced the camera. In 2020, she appeared in an advertisement campaign for the Guide Dogs charity. Following her enjoyable experience, as she got to know about the casting call for a visually impaired girl, she sent over her tape. After two months, she got a Zoom call from the Free Guy director, where Sutton immediately recognized him.

She exclaimed, “This is the man who directed Stranger Things, the Night at the Museum series,” acknowledging the Hollywood blockbusters. Post their call, she got the part, and the rest is history! Well, the successful casting of the show proved that Levy’s tried and tested method worked pretty well. Therefore, just like Sutton, all fans would now keep Marie in their hearts.
