Neil Gaiman shares the country that first started translating The Sandman
Neil is an amazing writer, and there is no doubt about that. But he also has the amazing quality of regularly interacting with his fans through social media. So after the incredible trailer for The Sandman was released in multiple languages, the writer especially tweeted an appreciation for Brazil.
Retweeting the Brazilian trailer of The Sandman, Neil wrote, “The first country in the world to discover Sandman was Brazil. The comics were published there in translation in (honesty compels me to admit it) rather nicer editions than the American comics. “
The writer then further complimented the country, saying they always had a detailed front page and long essays explaining what was going on in the particular issue. The 61-year-old then ended the tweet with, “So this is me giving a special shout-out to Brazil. And all the Brazilian Sandman readers. Bons sonhos!”
