After making the most of the holiday period with its meticulously curated content library, Netflix ventured into the new year with a resolution to outshine itself in 2025. But little did the subscribers know that the streamer was leaping ten steps ahead for the upcoming winter with a Christmas flick in the works, My Secret Santa.

Although fans may find this development a little too soon, it seems Netflix is carefully watching its next steps, and to help viewers keep up with the streamer on the fast lane, here is everything you need to know about My Secret Santa.

After hitting indefinite home runs with their festive slate of content, Netflix is moving headfirst to gear up for another holiday flick this year, My Secret Santa. According to Tudum by Netflix, Mike Rohl, the director behind Christmas favorite The Princess Switch, is taking over the project. The film is written by Carley Smale and Ron Oliver with production by Howard and Alexander Braunstein. The upcoming film also has a star-studded cast including, Alexandra Breckenridge from Virgin River and Ryan Eggold from Cross.

Tia Mowry from Family Reunion, Madison MacIsaac from Elevator Game, and Diana Maria Riva from Dead to Me round out the cast. My Secret Santa follows a single mother who disguises as a man to get hired as the seasonal Santa at an extravagant ski resort. However, when she starts falling in love with the hotel manager, chaos and conflicts follow suit, making up for a nail-biter Christmas flick in 2025.

While Netflix already had its blockbuster run with Carry-On last Christmas, here are more details on My Secret Santa.

According to Netflix by Tudum, filming is already underway for the romantic-comedy, My Secret Santa. Although a confirmed release date is still under wraps, it is likely slated to become part of Netflix’s Christmas lineup. Considering the streaming giant mostly releases live-action rom-coms ahead of Thanksgiving, it could very well hit the Netflix screens by November this year. If not, it could become Netflix’s Christmas trump card, though it remains purely speculative.

As for the current status in production, they are active on the lookout for extras. King Leo Agency recently put up a casting call on Instagram last week, meaning the team is getting ready to bring their story to the screens. The casting call welcomed extras of every age with dates scheduled from February 3 to 20. Hence, even without the winter, Netflix is sprinkling snowflakes of hope with North Star, already flickering way ahead of Christmas.
