Ortega recently opened up about the Latino aspect of the character she played on Wednesday. She expressed her joy at the fact that her family in the show was Boricuas. Moreover, Jenna Ortega said with full confidence that the reach her character has got is way more than any other Latin character has ever done. It was creative and thoughtful of the makers to cast a person of the same ethnicity as the character. She once mentioned in an interview that she was proud of herself for representing her culture through the character of Wednesday.
