More Thrill, More Crime, More Saul: Everything to Expect in ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 5 on Netflix
There are shows that work because of big names, a few that work because of great settings, but only a handful that are exquisite because of the sheer brilliance of character development and writing. One such show was Breaking Bad, and stepping into its role was the spin-off/prequel series Better Call Saul. Heading into the sixth and last season of its run, the AMC drama series is indeed one of the best character-driven shows of the past few years. And ahead of the season 6 release, Better Call Saul Season 5 is finally coming to Netflix!
The show follows the character of Jimmy McGill, who is yet to become the infamous and widely loved lawyer Saul Goodman. After the tremendous success of Breaking Bad on Netflix, it is no surprise that Better Call Saul has also found a home to itself at the streaming network. However, since AMC is the original home to the show, Netflix faces a little lag in getting the new seasons of the show on its library. But with the Better Call Saul season 6 set to release in the latter weeks of April, it makes sense that Netflix desires to treat its subscribers with season 5. Therefore, on April 4, 2022, Better Call Saul Season 5 will arrive on Netflix globally. This will give the fans just enough time to refresh their minds and prepare for the last season of the show.
The fifth season of the hit series followed the further fall of Jimmy aka Saul Goodman, along with the rise of Lalo Salamanca and his power in the Albuquerque region. The various storylines of Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), Nacho Varga (Michael Mando), Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), and Jimmy’s love interest and fellow worker Kim Wexler all come together to meet their eventual finale. It all particularly looks gruesome for Kim. So, although we know she doesn’t appear onBreaking Bad, we want her to come out alive in the end.
Netflix recently released a clip from the fifth season of the show, which clearly hints at the switch to being Saul Goodman from Jimmy McGill.
Season 6 theories
The biggest questions that the fans have going into the last season of the shows are that they are not sure if ending Kim’s story in the main timeline of the show will make any sense. Hence, they desire to see if Kim actually has the potential to make it to the Breaking Bad storyline. Another theory that fans believe in is that Saul will actually get arrested for helping Walter White in his entire business, which to be honest feels like a fitting end.
One other theory predicts Saul will actually go back to being a legitimate lawyer. Jimmy has gone through a lot throughout the course of both shows. Hence, it would be a fitting end if he finally gets to do what he loves the most, i.e., actually be a good lawyer. While yet another theory sees him go six feet under. This too is plausible given that he has made a formidable number of enemies through the course of the story.
