Monster: Ed Gein, is the anticipated third installation to the Ryan Murphy 'monstrous' figures in history project. With the two down being Jefferey Dahmer and second being Lyle and Erik Menendez. Following true-crime horrors with the most apt balance of dramatics and non-fiction, Murphy's treatment of the genre remains consistent throughout since his creation of 911. And with the buzz for the third part of the series being in the works already amassing, new details are out on the loose alongside.  

Knowing the next subject of interest that Murphy has soldered his interest onto, the anticipation of it is the only thing acting as a guiding light around the possibilities.

Monster: The Original Monster, the third season of Ryan Murphy's true crime anthology, will focus on Ed Gein, the infamous "Butcher of Plainfield." Charlie Hunnam will star as Gein, with Laurie Metcalf as his mother and Tom Hollander as Alfred Hitchcock. Gein's gruesome crimes in the 1950s sparked widespread media attention and inspired films like Psycho, solidifying his place as one of America's first notorious serial killers.

Given the production timelines of previous Monster seasons, The Original Monster is expected to premiere on Netflix in late 2025. With the filming already underworks, the wrap date can be estimated to be the spring of 2025. While not yet confirmed in Netflix's 2025 lineup, its potential for high ratings and awards recognition makes a late 2025 release plausible. These claims had also resulted in the series' reviews coming up an ample amount mixed, rather than positive, as it had been going on.
