No matter how old the films are, some of them are just timeless. One such film is The Terminator starring the former professional bodybuilder, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Almost four decades have passed since the release, but fans continue to shower their love on the film. However, when the antagonist got the offer to star in the film, his manager warned him as this film could have ended his career in Hollywood before it even began.
If Schwarzenegger would have listened to his manager when saying yes to the character, we wouldn’t be recognizing the actor as The Terminator actor. When the former governor of California got the offer to star in the film, his manager warned him not to choose it. It would have stained the impression of Schwarzenegger and could end his career before it even started. However, the Commando star chose to listen to his gut feeling and said yes to the role, as per Chillopedia.
However, did you know Arnold Schwarzenegger was not the first choice for the film? But as they say, all is well that ends well. The actor starred in the film and viewers loved him as well. After that, he portrayed amazingly recognized characters and gained affection from the fandom. Although the movie was a success, even the director of the film, James Cameron, wasn’t sure about casting the Austrian actor.

How did James Cameron feel about casting Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Despite the film doing well at the Box Office, James Cameron couldn’t believe the success of the film. The reason was Schwarzenegger’s look. Cameron said there was no way you would have found a Terminator from the crowd if they looked like Schwarzenegger. It made no sense to him and he was confused about how did the film become a blockbuster. However, the director mentioned that it is the beauty of the cinema. It didn’t have to make sense; it had to have plausibility.
Although the manager was against it, Schwarzenegger chose the character and made it one with himself. It is one of the most successful franchises that the superstar has been a part of.
