Jon Hurwitz recently turned to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his excitement about the deal that WGA has made with studios. He thanked the committee for coming to a middle ground because they have also been supporting the strike by halting their show’s production. Seeing his tweet, one user asked him if they could start working now because SAG-AFTRA has not come to an agreement yet with production companies. In his response, he wrote, “Can’t get back on set yet, but can get back to writing the moment the guild says the word”.
The American screenwriter also wished for actors to resolve this longstanding issue. For writers, it is only a matter of time before the WGA committee shows the green light to artists to fill their vacant seats. The news came only days after the show’s actor Martin Kove dropped glimpses of his independent project.
Meanwhile, it is not just Cobra Kai fans who have cause for celebration; for, writers stand to gain much from the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers’ agreement.
Writers are finally secure in every sector
Variety recently rolled out a report explaining the deal between WGA and studios that finally ended this toiling strike. The discussions lasted for five days and they finally reached a conclusion on Sunday and suspended picketing the same night. According to the mail rolled out by the committee, the deal involved all their demands regarding job security. However, they still have not allowed the writers to get back to work.

Considering the board will vote on Tuesday before sending out the final contract agreement. So they have asked all the people to wait for the details to come out. “To do so would complicate our ability to finish the job. So, as you have been patient with us before, we ask you to be patient again – one last time,” read the message.
