She even famously got rejected for being too mature. The British actress is finally taking the pen into her own hands. Quite literally, as she announced her debut novel ‘Nineteen Steps’ on her Instagram. The novel is set in history during World War II and is inspired by events in her own family history.

The Stranger Things cast is on a roll lately. Looks like Noah Schnapp will not be the only one making it big in a profession other than acting. At a time when many celebrities are releasing memoirs, it is remarkable of Brown to be writing a novel.

What is Nineteen Steps about? When will it be releasing?

Brown’s novel, as stated in her Instagram post, will be taking us far from the hustle and bustle of the digital world to the ironically quieter times during the Second World War when most noise came from air raids. As most stories set in the era, the protagonist of Brown’s novel, 18 years old Nellie Morris, finds her life turned upside down owing to a tragic accident during an air raid.

The tale is specifically set up in Bethnal Green, in London’s East End. The specific location might have something to do with the fact that it borrows instances from Brown’s family history. While it is an undisputed fact that she is well-spoken, it takes more to be a great writer. We will find out on the 12th of September when it is released or you can pre order it.
