Meghan Markle kick-started her three-year deal with Spotify with a podcast called Archetypes. In the show, the former actress invites popular and significant female personalities from across the globe to dissect and explore the tropes and labels that restrict women from succeeding in their professional and personal lives.
While the podcast has been well-received by people, Meghan Markle has received a lot of backlash and criticism from the royal experts in the United Kingdom. Many monarchists labeled Meghan’s downplayed vision of building her brand by labeling her as unmarketable and unemployable. Amidst all the criticism, the Duchess has received a massive boost in the form of a nomination for Archetypes.
Meghan Markle to compete with popular names for the award
Archetypes has received its first nomination in the People’s Choice Awards in the category Best Pop Podcast of 2022. This is huge for Meghan Markle, considering that she launched her show at the August end. She has welcomed both positive and negative reviews. The nomination also speaks volumes about the impact the Duchess is creating with her podcast. So far, Meghan has spoken with people like Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, Mindy Kaling, Lisa Ling, Deepika Padukone, Constance Wu, Paris Hilton, Iliza Shlesinger, Margaret Cho, Jenny Slate, Issa Rae, and Ziwe in the Spotify show.
The Sussex royal has been successful in getting acknowledged by the People’s Choice Award committee. However, the road to victory would not be easy for her. She will be competing with some of the biggest shows including Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain, Call Her Daddy, Not Skinny But Not Fat, and Why Won’t You Date Me? with Nicole Byer and many others.
Fans will be the ones deciding the winner as the voting lines are open till November 06. Meanwhile, the results will be declared on December 06 in a grand ceremony. The entertainment expert Mark Boardman hailed Meghan for receiving the nomination.
“Meghan Markle has some great news to celebrate having been nominated for a People’s Choice Award. It must be like therapy with positive feedback,” Mark said as quoted by Newsweek.
