Walking in the footsteps of her late mother-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has always been the People’s Princess more than the Institution’s. Or at least she tries her level best to be one. During her time in the United Kingdom, all we saw was Markle hugging people, listening to them, laughing and chatting with and treating them with kindness. Whatever the occasion may be, be it a birthday function or a funeral, she has been overwhelmingly close to a fan.

The last time we saw Markle on the Palace Premises was owing to the death of the late Queen, Queen Elizabeth II. The Duchess stood with the family in times of sorrow and dismay despite the trenchant controversies that surrounded her. Not only for Markle alone, but it was also intact the last time the fab four stood together before the public. 

In a walkabout at Windsor, with people overwhelmed and full of emotions, the Duchess paid close attention to every one of them. Generally, royal women are always a bit closer to the fandom as compared to the males. As everyone seems to ask for a picture or a hug, royal women make themselves at ease to do. And so did Meghan Markle.

A video of the Duchess attending a teenage girl in the stands has been going viral all over the internet. Meghan Markle seemingly asked her for her name and thanked everyone for joining the family in times of sorrow. In fact, she also asked if they were standing for too long in the Sun, assuring them that they will get over it in some time.

The little girl was on all cloud 9 to be communicating with the Duchess at such closure. Lastly, she also asked for a hug and the Duchess gave her a sweet and warm embrace in the stand itself. The viral video segment has been all over Facebook with fans gushing in their reactions. While everyone sang in praises of Meghan Markle has always been this kind-hearted and generous, others, of course, tried to defame her at the slightest opportunity. 

 A person penned, “The press has painted this woman a villain. People who don’t even know anything about the personal lives of Royals here hate her. Seriously, I see why this lady hates Britain. So much hate on one person.“

While another wrote, “I don’t care what anyone says. She’s so classy and beautiful. Shame on anyone who puts her down.”

“Megan has such a wonderful way of connecting with people. Hoping she will believe in the power of love and just ‘carry on’” said another fan in the comments.
