Meghan Markle Is Likely to Return to Netflix as PR Expert Claims ‘Suits’ Ratings Were Manipulated
Meghan Markle gained notoriety for her portrayal of the paralegal to the powerhouse journey of her Suits character, Rachel Zane. But it was her Hollywood to Birmingham journey that made her a household name. Giving up the former for the latter to join Prince Harry in the royal house of Windsor, she has now ironically returned to Hollywood. After years of rumbling with the royals, the Sussexes relinquished their royal titles and entered a $100 million megadeal with Netflix, and the result, Harry & Meghan, had viewers glued to their screens as they binged the oh-so-dramatic documentary. Taking a hint from its popularity, Netflix brought Suits onto its platform in June too.
But now a PR expert has brought some dark truths to light about the symbiotic relationship between Netflix and Markle. And some of the expert’s claims are eye-opening, while some are downright shocking.

Kieran Elsby, who heads Media PR Global, shed light on Markle’s current standing with the OTT mogul in an interview with The Mirror. Pointing out the hefty deal between them, he said that it “seems likely” she will return to the platform. Touching on how Suits recently climbed Netflix’s charts, he speculated that it was done deliberately due to Netflix’s heavy “investment” in Markle.
Recently a poll by YouGov revealed that Suits was in fact at number 351 of the most popular TV shows. Referring to this, Elsby claimed that this new feat by Suits may be an attempt by Netflix to keep Markle “relevant.” Because ultimately, both parties’ ulterior motive is to “strive for the top position.”
Elsby claimed that in his 10 years on the platform, he himself has not seen Suits yet. Calling it an “extraordinary” feat by the show, he also spoke on what kind of shows generally enjoy such popularity on Netflix.

Because Suits came out almost a decade ago, for some keen observers, the legal drama did not warrant topping Netflix’s charts. And Elsby, who hints at the same, divulged what content generally ranks this high. In his opinion, it would have been more typical to see newly launched content or Netflix’s projects with “A-listers like Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson” on the list instead.
Besides these speculations, the 42-year-old recently received hate on another front too. She came under fire from fans for causing Prince Harry’s Heart of Invictus series to be shelved. While some believe his show has been dumped, Netflix is yet to make any official statements.
