Netflix’s The Witcher just concluded its run of Season 3. The highly popular fantasy series saw a somewhat mixed bag of a finale as fans bid adieu to the original Geralt of Rivia played by Henry Cavill. The season focused more on its side characters and world-building, leaving the likes of Geralt behind. However, many characters got justice served by their character arcs in the process. One such character was Francesca Findabair.

The character of Francesca played by Mecia Simson went through her own character arc this season. In a BTS photo shared on Twitter, fans can appreciate her dedication to bringing her character to life. Even if that includes soaking herself in blood!

Mecia Simson portrays the character of Francesca Findabair, a sorceress who ascended to become the queen of the elves residing in Dol Blathanna during Season 2. An unknown assassin mercilessly slew her own elven child, who was destined to be the savior of their race. This devastating loss fueled Francesca’s grief and desire for vengeance. Without giving any spoilers, Season 3 saw her character consumed and vowing revenge as the actress shone through her screen time. In a tweet shared by Redanian Intelligence, fans can marvel at her dedication to the role.

In this BTS photo, people can take a moment to appreciate the hard work that goes behind her preparation for the role. Additionally, the Thanedd coup director Loni Peristere was also present in the picture. The director had very recently commended Henry Cavill and his on-screen nemesis, Mahesh Jadu, for their dedication to depicting another epic final fight scene. It seems to be the case here too, as we can all but applaud Simson for her commitment.

Cavill had single-handedly brought fame and charisma to the character of Geralt. A large section of the show was a loyal fandom of Henry Cavill. The actor’s impressive skills and exuberance immediately hooked viewers on the show. However, news broke towards the end of Season 3’s shooting that Cavill had now exited the show, devastating the fans who were loyal to his character Geralt.

The teaser trailers and promotions suggested that the show will conclude Cavill’s Geralt on a high. However, the finale was very casual and slow-ended. It did not kill off, nor did it extravagantly highlight Henry Cavill. It simply cast him out into the shadows towards an unknown fate. Fans blasted Netflix for the ‘poor’ depiction, which resulted in the last two episodes becoming the series’ lowest-rated. However, a section of fans defended its accuracy to the sourcebooks.
