FunFact: they were struggling to find a lead and he came busting in to the casting room saying, “I’M Luke Skywalker, I’m here to rescue you!” And they liked him so much they hired him and kept the line in, too.
Absolutely true.
Didn’t just make that up.
All true. Every word

People started to share their Star Wars journey in the comment box as well.
Mine began getting a speeding ticket on the Lion's Gate bridge driving home after seeing the first Star Wars movie. For some reason I thought I was in an X-wing fighter flying down one of the trenches on the Death Star. What can I say? I was young: pic.twitter.com/a5yciXGlOk

December 17, 1997. Our teacher played the original trilogy for us on the last day before Christmas break when I was in 5th grade.

Don't recall the 1st time I became aware of Star Wars, but 1st time in the theatre was RoTJ in grade 4. Saw it twice. To this day I think R2 ejecting the light sabre for Luke and the rescue of Han Solo to be one of the greatest things I have ever seen on the big screen.

This user became even more curious and asked what made Hamill audition for the role.
Question, just because I'm curious: what made you audition for the role? Was there something you liked about it, or was it you were going to a thousand auditions and that happened to be one?

And this one shared the scene from the film and said this was when this jaw-dropping moment caught the heart.
At this precise moment in 1977 when my 8 year old jaw hit the floor. pic.twitter.com/pQCzCoorLC

And this one appreciated the actor for getting the part.
And I'm so glad you got the part, Boolio is such an underappreciated character pic.twitter.com/g811rX8Dom
