Meghan Markle found a trustworthy friend in Priyanka Chopra during her stint as an actor. The two actresses became good friends when the Duchess was shooting for Suits and Chopra was starring in Quantico. The Indian actress also made it to the royal wedding list in 2018 when Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry at the St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Chopra stunned in a lilac dress as she arrived at the grand ceremony with Abigail Spencer. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry put a ring on their relationship in November 2017, but the rumors of their alleged engagement and marriage started months back. The Quantico star once made headlines for defending her friend amidst the rumors of the royal wedding. 

Priyanka Chopra refused to give out details regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Priyanka Chopra encountered a question regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in January 2017 after receiving the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress. ET Canada’s reporter Natasha Gargiulo asked the Baywatch star if she was planning to be a royal bridesmaid later in the year. Chopra smartly dodged the question, saying that she was happy for her friend. 

“I’m just happy for Meg, and I hope whatever she does, wherever she goes in life, [that] she’s always happy. Let’s not jump the gun, let’s give them their space,” Priyanka Chopra said in the interaction.

Further, the Indian actress remained tight-lipped when asked about her meeting with Prince Harry. She refused to reveal if she met the royal Prince by saying that it is important to respect the couple’s privacy. “Can’t talk about it! I don’t want to give away her life. I just think that’s what friends are for. We keep each other’s secrets,” Chopra concluded. 

Meanwhile, there were rumors of a rift between Markle and Chopra. It was revealed that the Indian star was reportedly crushed after the Duchess failed to attend her grand wedding with Nick Jonas in December 2018. The Sussexes could not travel to India due to Markle’s pregnancy. However, Chopra quashed all the rumors by wishing the Duchess on her birthday last year.
