The Wheelers are without a doubt the only family in Stranger Things that is somewhat relatable. The dad is just a dad, the mom is always running around like a worried mother hen, and the kids? They are off doing their own thing, saving Hawkins from the otherworldly monsters. But no matter how crazy things get, the Wheelers always manage to come together in the end like one big happy family. However, some recent set leaks from Season 5 are proving to be bad news for the Wheelers.

It looks like one of them is in for a rough ride this season, either meeting their end or getting seriously injured in the showdown. 

Stranger Things Season 5 is currently rolling its cameras for a 2025 release. But even though the season is still in the works, the behind-the-scenes sneak peeks have got everyone excited (and anxious) about what is coming. Recently, some leaked hospital documents have popped up, showing that Karen Wheeler is in serious trouble. She has got cuts and bruises on her neck, chest, shoulder, and abdomen. The report also suggests she might be dealing with an infection or could be on the brink of one. But that was not all. 

The documents pointed to these injuries being tied to a Demogorgon, which means the Upside Down is now an old acquaintance of Hawkins. The leak also gave away that the late 1987 time jump will potentially kick off in the 2nd episode, while the battle from 1986, where Season 4 wrapped up, will be front and center in Episode 1. The first episode might show how the Hawkins team will fight off the Upside Down’s push into their world. This is the second time the show has hinted at a major character’s life hanging by a thread.

Earlier this month, Stranger Things season 5 hinted at some danger for Will Byers as well, with some more set snippets. 

A few weeks back, some more set photos from Stranger Things Season 5 hit the web, showing Will Byers hanging out with the Hawkins gang. However, fans noticed that each picture gave off a vibe of Will growing distant from his friends, as if he was slipping away from Hawkins. It was hinted at the end of Season 4 that Will was never entirely cut off from Vecna.

He was seen getting those familiar chills whenever Vecna's nearby. This suggests that Will might once again confront the horrors of the Upside Down, especially since he has been the longest survivor there and knows it inside and out.  No matter the character, it is for sure that not everyone in the Stranger Things gang will make it to the end, so fans might want to keep those tissues handy.
