Held responsible for revolutionizing the videogame industry, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is not a name you may be a stranger to. Based on the famous 1996 debutant video game, a series of movies was released in the wake of its popularity, following plotlines similar to what the character rode and fought with across the game’s trails.

Having been voted as one of the most iconic characters in both video games and the movies, Lara Croft had been brought to life in the seat-edging movies by the most sufficing Angelina Jolie, in the live-action movie series. And by actress Hayley Atwell in the animated movie series. Some of the gems have even been collected by one of the biggest streaming platforms to be preserved, over the years

Netflix has accumulated an immaculate collection of classics over the years of subscription-based system, and the Tomb Raider series is nonetheless a worthy addition. The streaming giant has made available the live-action installations: Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), starring Angelina Jolie, which also turned the actress into the face of the franchise; and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, released in 2003, with Jolie's secured return.

Netflix has also acquired the animated series of the same, just as intense and compelling; Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which is a continuation to the 2013 Tomb Raider video game installation, the 'Definitive Survivor Trilogy', best able to suffice the aura of her live action counterpart, Hayley Atwell, who is known to play Peggy in Captain America: The First Avenger, was cast as Lara Croft’s voice. Keeping in mind the Indiana Jones-esque voice needed for the atmosphere of the show.

Replica or not, the Tomb Raider series is certainly a must-watch recommendation on the list, with its to-the-edge driving plot turns and compelling, inspiring storylines, Lara Croft has taken claim of one of the most iconic characters both in and outside of the original video game franchise, often even taken to be separate entities, both equally excellent in delivery for its time.
