Kit Harrington Talks Extrapolations’ Comparison to ‘Black Mirror’, and How It’s the “Least Controversial Thing” He Has Done

Climate change is almost on the verge of emergency right now if we close look. And it is not just one of the problems that advancing humanity is facing but a major threat that might just shake the whole civilization. Depicting the same possibilities that people might experience in the future Scott Z. Burns brought Extrapolation. This Apple TV+’s new anthology drama focuses on eight different stories of people’s lives altered by climate change. Talking about its storyline in an interview, Kit Harrington compared the series to the highly acclaimed show Black Mirror. While at the same time, he made a hilarious comment about how this project is the only show that did not steep him in controversies.

Appearing at the Los Angeles premiere of Extrapolations on Tuesday, Kit Harrington took a moment to talk about his show with The Hollywood Reporter. During the conversation, he revealed that their director has picked references from several futuristic series to give the audience the right message. Moreover, he recalled how Burns always related this show to Black Mirror. Although the storylines of both shows are different, they still walk on the same path.

Just like the British drama it tries to convey that what people are ignoring today will become the reason for their destruction in the coming years. Meanwhile, the Game of Thrones alum seemed quite relaxed at the thought that this show does not involve anything controversial. The show “is probably the least controversial thing I’ve ever been involved in,” said Harrington to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kit Harrington says Extrapolations will scare you in the most intellectual way 

According to the actor, Extrapolations is a complete formation of different kinds of sequences that will fill viewers will excitement. At the same time, there are several things that might scare the hell out but it is important to people aware of the future. The show is set 50 years ahead in time when the world is facing the aftermath of climate change.

“I think in time it’ll become a really historical piece; whatever anyone thinks of it now, when we fast-forward in 50 years’ time, people will be looking at this going,” explained the Gunpowder star.
