Heavy is the head that wears the crown. The soon-to-be monarch of the United Kingdom, King Charles, and his wife, Queen Camilla, are seemingly having regular royal engagements for a while. The couple had recently made its world debut, starting with the European Union. While Germany’s government welcomed the King and the Queen with open arms, scenes were not the same as expected in other nations like France. Nonetheless, the King has been. Trying his level best to get the work done. 

One of the most vital aspects of the monarch’s state visit is involvement in the territory and its aspects. While previous monarchs had been staying afloat in matters of personal and diplomatic relations within the royal family, King Charles took another step forward to instilling Britain’s involvement in countries abroad. The speech he gave at the German parliament had reportedly become a piece of massive news in itself. 

As reported by People Magazine, the 74-year-old royal was the first British monarch to have directly addressed a foreign nation in its parliament. Through the course of a state visit, King Charles addressed Bundestag with a remarkable speech at the German parliament. While speaking of the bond shared between both countries, the King hoped for a bright and shared future in the coming years. 

What did King Charles Say about Britain and Germany?

Recalling how his late mother, the previous monarch, had dedicated her life to serving her royal duties, King Charles praised the German union for returning the same by always being a rigid supporter of the United Kingdom. Focussing primarily on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, he reassured his commitment towards Ukraine, with Germany as its companion. 

“Countless lives have been destroyed. Freedom and human dignity were brutally trampled on. The security of Europe is under threat, as are our democratic values,” affirmed the King. However, the world cannot sit arms folded, and watch the nations burn down each other. Someone has to speak up and so he will, in defense of Ukraine. 

Throwing light on the significant military support by Germany towards the war-struck nation, King Charles touched the nation while delivering the speech in German. Not only Germany but other nations who have seen the King reaffirming his commitments are under similar opinions.
