King Charles III ascended to Britain’s throne the moment the former monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, suffered a heartbreaking demise. Ever since, all the big and small decisions related to the Kingdom and its administration have been vested in the hands of King Charles, the soon-to-be monarch. Having been the pioneer of a “modernized monarchy” ever since his ruling days were not even close, the late Queen’s eldest was keen on bending some rules or completely transforming them in accordance with the changing world.

King Charles has thus seemingly gotten rid of some age-old traditions, making it more of a royal fairytale for himself and his beloved wife, Queen Consort Camilla. As reported by People Magazine, the monarch has kept aside a major coronation tradition that was once binding on his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, as well. Buckingham recently released the invitation card and other details for the grand once-in-a-generation occasion for King Charles and his Queen. And the outlet could not unsee a massive modification for the big day.

The magazine has revealed that the King has evidently changed the grand old coronation route from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham. He literally took the road not taken and brushed aside the one that had been used by his mother for the last 70 years. The late Queen has forever used the same route right from the time of her coronation ceremony in 1953.

He has reportedly cut short the five-mile trip traditionally opted for the ceremony. Thus, making it only a 1.3-mile trip from the palace and the Abbey for his big day.

What else has King Charles changed for his coronation?

Nonetheless, not only did he choose a path closer, but he also turned his fantasized storybook entry into the Palace in grand Golden and Diamond Jubilee coaches worth millions. The procession from the Palace to the 11th-century church will witness Their Majesties in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach. Whereas, their return from the Abbey to Buckingham will have the crowned royals sitting in their splendid Gold State Coach.

It is also to note that the Diamond Jubilee Coach is yet again another alteration in the process. Ever since King William IV in 1831, the monarchs had used the Gold State both ways. However, it seems like King Charles is all for his storybook coronation ceremony to level up his game.
