Kim Go Eun Chances Upon 53 Million Dollars in the New Kdrama ‘Little Women’

After numerous adaptations of the novel Little Women on screen over the years, it is the first time the South Koreans are adding their touch to the tale. Netflix has been maintaining a steady flow of high-production Korean dramas and Little Women is about to join that list this September. The streamer has just released a teaser that has already gained over a million views. 

What is the KDrama Little Women about? 

The drama will tell the story of three sisters who grow up in extreme poverty. The eldest Oh In Joo came across a bag full of cash, around $53 million one day. Having chanced upon this huge amount of cash, she decides to use the money to buy an apartment and upgrade her and her family’s lifestyle. But she’s met with resistance from her upright sister Oh In Kyung.

She works for a news agency and suddenly finds herself involved with a mysterious case from her past. Lastly, the youngest of the three, Oh In Hye, is a talented artist. Despite their financial struggles, she manages to get into a prestigious art high school due to her talent. 

Meet the cast and the team behind the drama

Kim Go Eun steps into the lead role of Oh In Joo right after Yumi’s Cells. She became a household name for her work in Goblin and The King: The Eternal Monarch besides Lee Min Ho. Nam Ki Hyun was one of the popular child artists of Korea. Now a grown-up, she’s most notably known for her role in 100 Days My Prince.

KDrama lovers will immediately recognize Park Ji Hoo from her breakout role in this year’s All Of Us Are Dead. The Netflix zombie thriller was the talk of the town when it dropped on the platform early this year. Squid Game alum Wi Ha Joon also joins the three ladies in Little Women

Kim Hee Won directed the series while Jung Seo Kyung wrote the script.

The twelve-episode series will arrive on the streamer on September 3, 2022. Each episode will have a runtime of about 60 minutes.
