The spooky and mysterious town of Riverdale is just about to get a whole lot spookier; as it prepares to host a very special and magical guest from the town of Greendale. In an epic crossover episode, Kiernan Shipka‘s Sabrina Spellman is going to grace the streets of Riverdale.

Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and CW’s Riverdale are both set in the same universe as per the world-famous Archie Comics. As no crossover event ever really took place between them, it is about time that the fans receive what they have always wanted.

What do we know about the Sabrina-Riverdale crossover?

The Riverdale writer Evan Kyle initially announced this event when he appeared on a QnA with The Dipp. Later, the showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed the news of the enigmatic crossover between both these amazing shows with Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since season 1, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening, as part of our ‘Rivervale’ special event. It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need. Everyone on set lost their minds — I think fans will, too. It’s really fun and special.”

How and when does this crossover happen?

The biggest question that has kept the fans awake is – How is this crossover even possible after Sabrina died in the season finale of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. But we are talking about witches, magic, and supernatural beings, so her coming back to life is not really that unbelievable. But more importantly, it makes us question the timeline of both these shows.

There were elements on the sets and the costumes that suggested that Sabrina existed in a different timeline of events than Riverdale, but then again the appearance of bully Billy Marlin (Ty Wood) on Riverdale hinted that maybe the timelines are not that distant. We can just speculate about all this until we see Sabrina on-screen in Riverdale.

Details we know about the Crossover

As of now, we know that the young witch is going to appear in an episode titled “The Witching Hour(s).” This is going to be the fourth episode of season 6 of Riverdale.

According to the logline description of the episode; Cheryl Blossom is performing a rather dangerous spell, which will probably be a matter of life and death for someone close. But she will have all the help she requires from the people’s favorite young witch, Sabrina Spellman.
