In conversation with TV Line, Jinny Howe, Netflix’s VP of Drama Development, claims, “I’ve seen firsthand Deb’s incredible work on shows including The West Wing. She knows how to tell an amazing story, with character depth, stakes, and surprises, all of which she’ll bring to The Diplomat.”

The Diplomat is a political thriller that revolves around the life of Kate Wyler, played by Keri Russell. Kate landed the job of a career diplomat, but in the time of an international crisis. She was always unfit for the job, which results in destroying her marriage and her political future.

What do we know about The Diplomat on Netflix?

Netflix confirmed the television series in January 2022. Debora Cahn, Janice Williams, and Keri Russell will be the executive producer of the television series. The Diplomat will explore a political turmoil, which will go on for eight 50-minutes episodes. There is no trailer available till now, as the filming and production have not started yet. Netflix hasn’t confirmed an official release date for the series.

If they started filming in the middle of the year, we can expect the show on the streaming at the end of 2023.
