In mid-2023, Netflix concluded season three of The Witcher as it bade a farewell to the Geralt of Rivia played by Henry Cavill. However, the outing faced a barrage of complaints and criticisms over its deviations from the lore, wasted character building, and plenty of unaddressed open plot points. With the streamer expected to rectify its shortcomings in season four, it ran into troubled waters when the twin Hollywood strikes pushed the project into incessant delays.

Now, close to nine months after the airing of the third season, positive news for filming the next chapter has come forth.

The previous season left The Continent in a war-ravaged situation, with elements of power and uncertainty taking shape in different quarters. Furthermore, with Liam Hemsworth set to pick up Geralt’s sword and the series having a lot of narrative explanation to do, the shoot for The Witcher season four may prove to be a lengthy process. Regardless of the already delayed schedule, Safiyya Ingar took to her Instagram stories to update that stunt rehearsals have picked up steam for the shoot.

The actress who played Keira Metz in the third season will also thus likely mark her return to the fourth. Her snap featured a set of swords in a box as she captioned "Let’s go" alongside a wolf emoji, highlighting that the shoot has begun its process in some shape or form. The fortunate news greets fans close on the heels of another update, hinting at the likely shoot areas for the returning season spread over many areas in the UK.

Along these lines, the streaming giant also added its 3 Body Problem's actor Edmund Kingsley to the roster of new faces for The Witcher. Moreover, Sharlto Copley, Danny Woodburn, and even James Purefoy will also take on the roles of Leo Bonhart, Zoltan Chivay, and Stefan Skellen respectively alongside Laurence Fishburne, making way for a strong next-season return.
