Johnny Depp made a great team with Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley for the legendary movie Pirates of the Caribbean. The actor is undoubtedly one of the most well-liked celebrities who has the support of his fans regardless of his situation. He most recently came into the limelight for his very public and harsh divorce and defamation case with former wife Amber Heard.

Regardless, he is still known for his highly celebrated role of Jack Sparrow in the pirate movie series. Although he did not romance Keira Knightley in the movie, they exchange a brief and infamous kiss. While the scene was effortless for the viewer, an interview revealed Depp’s experience of shooting the scene.

While Johnny Depp was married to 26 years younger Amber Heard, age was one of the reasons why he felt awkward kissing Keira Knightley. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actor spoke about the much-raved scene with Keira Knightley. He said, “the fact that Keira is 20-something years younger than me made it infinitely more awkward. Still, she was a good sport about it and we did what we had to do.” He also added how it is difficult to get romantic on-screen with someone that you are not involved with.

Speaking to TMZ, he once also revealed how Knightley was just 17 years old when the scene was shot. Despite that, the actor appreciated his co-star’s efforts, crediting her for being a good sport during the scene. On the other hand, Knightley had a rather different view of the scenario. Just like a lot of other girls, her young self was yelping with joy at the thought of kissing Depp.

Her young self was more than happy to share the scene with her co-star. She was also one of the many Hollywood celebrities that came in support of Johnny Depp during his trial with Heard. Apparently, their chemistry as friends is even stronger in real life.
