Over the years, the Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle comparisons and contrasts send the fans into a frenzy. And why would it not? The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex have carved out a niche of their own with the latter’s being more prominently known as the Meghan Markle Effect. Markle has perfectly epitomized the blend of American flair into the landed aristocracy’s Palace-befitting lifestyle. However, Middleton gave her some tough competition over the years.
Bringing back the time when both the royal women made their royal Ascot debut, although years apart, there have been some similarities between the outfits chosen by the two. Nonetheless, the seemingly remarkable differences have what made the two set the trends of their own. While Meghan Markle walked hand-in-hand with Prince Harry for her first royal horse race event in the year 2018, Kate Middleton had her first just a couple of years ago, in 2016.
For the event, the Duchess channeled her favorite Givenchy into an alluring solid white dress with raised collars at the neckline. They made the dress all the way to the ankles with layered wavy patterns at the hem. Complimentary to the same, Meghan Markle wore a stylish white hat by Philip Treacy. She elegantly accessorized the headwear with a couple of black extensions and a black net at the terminal part of the hat.
Two years prior to Markle’s debut, Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton made her first royal appearance in the royal horse race. Surprisingly enough, she also donned a beautiful and eye-soothing white dress, which can be called a classic Middleton choice. She looked chic with her all-time favorite white lace Dolce & Gabbana round-neck dress with a cream headpiece by Jane Taylor.
The few similarities between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s royal Ascot Debuts
The dresses the royal women wore undoubtedly became the events’ major highlights. However, there were some other significant similarities in the gesture of both women that royal spectators cannot get over with. Both Princess Kate Middleton and Duchess Meghan Markle arrived at the event with their princess-y carriage alongside their husbands.
The brothers also kept up with their wives in style while rocking the old-money classic Britain outfits with extended overcoats and noble hats.
